The Aristocrats are possibly the most gifted band in music today. All three musicians are without a doubt virtuosos, but how does all of that talent translate to an interesting show? The other factor is that all three men, guitarist Guthrie Govan, bassist Bryan Bellar and drummer Marco Minnemann are very personable and tell some very funny stories.

Each member took to the mic to introduce the song that they wrote. Each time they would explain what made them write the song and how each track got its title. This just added to the overall enjoyment. Each song sounded absolutely incredible of course. The band was tight and they definitely feed off each other on stage.

Favorite moments? Marco’s drum solo during “Desert Tornado” was possibly the greatest drum solo I have ever heard and I have been to many shows and heard the likes of Neil Peart, Mike Mangini, Mike Portnoy, Alan White, Gavin Harrison and more. “Smuggler’s Corridor” was another fun song because the audience got to sing a long with the one vocal part in the set. “Culture Clash” was a beast and of course “The Kentucky Meat Shower” (complete with info about vulture’s eating habits) was as catchy as a band like the Aristocrats can be!

The Aristocrats are a rare band that fuses talent with fun and humor. It would not work without all 3 of them. Luckily, we have all three. If they come to your area, do NOT miss the show! Also, if you have a chance to see a show at the Bearsville Theater, do it! The venue is comfortable and the area itself is beautiful!
